The Jersey City Project
<< MetroSoul Projects
With over a
quarter million people and rapid growth, Jersey City will
soon be the largest city in New Jersey. MetroSoul has
begun work on a project that will plant churches throughout
this city, reaching the many people and cultures that call
it home. Take a look at some of the resources below
for more information about this exciting project.
| The Jersey City Project
is a mission effort undertaken by MetroSoul, an urban church
planting team and network focused on the New York metro
area. The members of the Jersey City team are Ben and Susan
Cheek, Kristen Swint, and Chad Rue, Kristen’s fiancée.
Currently, Ben and Susan live and work in the Heights, a
community within Jersey City. Kristen and Chad are joining
them in 2006. The project’s goal is to build communities of
faith in Jersey City, New Jersey that will in turn become
channels of “living water” to a thirsty city. By the grace
of God these churches, which will meet in the homes of
Christians, will reproduce and spread throughout the city. Get Involved!

About the Jersey City Team
Chad grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. He was not raised in a household of faith.
After high school he developed a drug addiction. Unable to cope with life, but scared of
dying, Chad entered rehabilitation clinics in hopes of breaking his addiction. After four failed
attempts, his fifth was successful only because he found a spiritual foundation
in Jesus upon which to
rebuild his life. He was led by God to the church and was, by the grace of our Lord, rescued
from his addiction. Aware of the darkness of sin, Chad is a passionate evangelist and recovery
counselor. Currently, Chad is in Tennessee doing development work for the
Jersey City Project.
