Hmmm.  What is God like?  What does he want with us?  How does he grow us?  How can we experience him?  These huge questions have captured the mind of man since the dawning of our age on Earth.  While definitive answers to these conundrums are illusive, the journey they compel us to take unfolds an world to us like no other.  Join us on the quest to seek God and know him.

Where's the LoveAmerican Christianity is criticized so broadly and often that the phraseology is already cliché. This reinforces the sentiment that I have expressed here and elsewhere that our culture believes that at least Christendom — the culture of Christianity — and maybe Christianity itself has failed. We believe it so much so that even within the religion there is now a feverish attempt to wake a church that is assumed to be sleeping, or worse, apostate (or else, why are we declining?). Much of the objections of our culture have to do with church more than Jesus (see comments in “500 Pound Gorilla“) and so 22 million Americans claim some kind of belief in Jesus but no church attendance or loyalty to “organized religion” (see Barna’s Original at:

A Clipper at SeaHonestly, we do not know much and even what we think we know, we know not well.  To be human is to swim in a sea of uncertainty, grasping only occassionally this or that truth to hold onto.  Somtimes we find false help — they sink as soon as they are gripped, or hold some hidden malice or danger.  Others sustain...

Sometimes I wonder what we would be if we were fully awake.  It seems our senses and minds are half asleep, desensitived to everything except the most painful or novel things.  At times there is a wakefulness around me and it seems my mind is opened for brief moments and I see it:  the Glory.

It happened a week ago.  Our faith community has recently moved to meeting in homes for a while since the Serentiy Club closed.  The family was gathered in a living room and shared a warm time...

Why? Because of the system. The system of churches and religious programs that make people believe they need all this stuff before they can get closer to God. The systems that inculcate us into believing that we need degrees inorder to know God better. That we need millions before we can start a church. That we need to be perfect before we can serve. A system that robs us of the confidence God wants for us. A system that rewards those who can speak clearly and overlooks those who stutter. A system that does not allow the nervous ones to serve. A system that rewards self righteousness and hypocrisy over weakness and honesty.

About a God who is so loving we cannot even imagine it. I am happy now about a God who is telling us " I gave my only begotton son so that you, yes you can come and be with me. I am happy now about a God who says be confident for I am with you. I am happy about a God who through His Son's life...
